Genetic Sequencing
Quickly determine what kind of microorganisms and the relative abundance in your sample. We specialize in amplicon sequencing.
Our expert technical staff will prepare and sequence Illumina MiSeq sequencing libraries from your samples. Our sequencing services include taxonomic marker-gene (16S, 18S and ITS) amplicon sequencing to identify which microbes are present and at what proportion. We can also sequence custom PCR amplicons of your favourite gene, and determine the identity of microbial isolates.

Bioinformatics
State-of-the-art methods to help you decipher and understand your sample. We will work with you to bring the most out of your data.
Whether you’ve sequenced your samples with us or not, our bioinformatics team can use our optimized marker-gene and metagenomic pipelines to analyze your data. We can provide in-depth or basic analysis and reports, based on your needs and questions. Our bioinformaticians can also work with you on custom workflows, including analysis of metatranscriptome data.
- Level 1: alpha-diversity (species richness and diversity), taxonomy
- Level 2: beta-diversity (compare samples based on taxonomic composition and sample metadata)
- Level 3: further sample characterization (phylogenetic/taxonomic novelty, indicator species, mining for specific taxonomic data)
- Metagenomics: assembled genomes, gene annotation, functional enrichment, bioprospecting (discuss analysis design with analytics team)

Soil DNA Extraction Kit
Extract high quality DNA from microbes within a wide variety of sample types. Rapid and efficient.
Our Sox Soil DNA Kit employs patent-pending methodology of bead-beating, silica spin columns, and a unique combination of chemistry, resulting in exceptionally high yields of highly purified DNA. Contaminants, including humic acids and other compounds that inhibit PCR and downstream molecular biology manipulations, are removed from the lysate. Organic solvents and proteinases are not used. The kit has been validated by successful extraction of DNA from diverse soil sample types followed by high-resolution rRNA gene and fungal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) profile analysis.

Water Filtration Kit
Capture and preserve biomass from liquid samples intended for DNA extraction.
